NABU detectives on Friday, August 20, detained a current member of the Commission on the Regulation of Gambling and Lotteries (KRAIL) while receiving an illegal benefit for assistance in the granting of permits and licenses in the field of gambling business in the amount of 90 thousand US dollars. This was reported by the press service of NABU.
"As a result of the covert investigative (search) actions, the official (who at the time of the crime was acting as chairman of the Commission for the Regulation of Gambling and Lotteries) was detained" hot "when receiving an unlawful profit on an especially large scale," the message says.
In the summer of 2021, NABU detectives received information about the existence of a system for obtaining unlawful benefits on an especially large scale for granting permits and licenses for the right to engage in gambling business.
The detectives documented facts indicating that the KRAIL member offered to provide him with an unlawful benefit for accepting permits confirming the compliance of the premises in the Chernihiv and Zaporozhye regions for the organization and conduct of gambling.
In addition, he promised to ensure the provision of licenses for the right to carry out gambling activities in these premises.
Investigative actions continue to expose other members of the organized criminal group.
