Head of the Commission for Regulation of Gambling and Lotteries Ivan Rudyi to Speak at Ukrainian Gaming Week 2021: Buy Tickets at the Special Price!

Brussels, 18 December – The European Casino Association (ECA), the European Lotteries (EL) and the World Tote Association (WTA) joined their voices in the Alliance Against Illegal Gambling to support the upcoming Digital Services Act package of the European Commission, which will modernise the rules to tackle illegal online content through its notice-and-action mechanism.

The Gambling Commission has published further data showing how the renewed tightening of Covid-19 lockdown measures has impacted gambling behaviour in Great Britain. 

The data reflects the period between March and October, inclusive, and covers both online and in-person gambling with data from Licensed Betting Operators (LBOs) found on Britain’s high streets.

The Betting and Gaming Council have re-affirmed their 10-pledge Covid action plan to protect staff and customers as the second national lockdown in England gets underway.

The standards body initially unveiled the pledges, which set out the standards expected of BGC members, at the time of the UK-wide lockdown in March.

It followed concerns that the closure of betting shops and casinos could lead to a rise in problem gambling online.

The UK Gambling Commission (UKGC) announced its decision to revoke the operating licence of the company that operates Park Lane Casino – Silverbond Enterprises Ltd.

Following a hearing before the regulatory panel, the decision was made under section 102(4)(b) of the Gambling Act 2005. Subject to appeal, the revocation takes effect on November 18, 2020.
